Cemetery Open Day Sunday 26th October 2025 2-4pm. Everyone is welcome

The Traralgon Cemetery Trust is hosting their annual Cemetery Open Day, which will be a time for those in the community to ask questions and learn how the crematorium operates. Stonemasons, celebrants & funeral celebrants will be attending to answer any queries people have and to share information. This is not a day for sales, it is an Information Day. Everyone is welcome and free hot drinks will be available from a coffee van.

Crematorium Tours are being held at 2.30pm & 3.15pm. where you will have the opportunity to see what happens with each cremation and one of our dedicated staff will be available to answer any questions you may have.

A short self-walking tour of some of our pioneering women graves is organised with a brochure & map with brief information on each woman selected for their contribution to the Traralgon district. Each grave will be marked for you to easily find which corresponds to the map you will be given.

This year is the 40th anniversary of the first installation of a cremator at the Traralgon Cemetery and a visual display will be presented showing the history of how the crematorium was developed and who supported the cemetery in achieving this progressive initiative for Gippsland. Since then, we have now installed two cremators as the numbers of cremations have increased significantly since that time.

Please meet in our Function Room to start the event and be part of the welcome.
